Forever Girl (has had countless aliases over the years, currently goes by Laura Clarke) - Laura is a human being gifted with the power of immortality. Though her exact place of origin is known only to her, Laura appears as an (approx) fifteen-year-old girl of Middle Eastern origin. She is said to have received her abilities as a result of a botched human sacrifice to an ancient deity of life and longevity, the identity of which she has never known.

Over the years Laura has studied numerous martial arts, both ancient and modern, as well as learning many languages and being able to fit comfortably within different cultures, in varying social classes. Although she can recall past times with clarity, she chooses not to dwell on the past and instead embraces the present; she is always up to date with the latest trends and technology.

Laura is a long-time adversary of the Cryptid Society and has spent centuries cutting down the Society whenever it springs up, though has never managed to completely eradicate it.

She is insanely rich, having amassed a fortune over her years, and is the adopted mother of Amy Clark, the Chimera.

Since the emergence of other super powered beings Laura has become a much loved and respected staple of the super heroic community, as well as a focus of countless plots to discover and obtain the secret of her immortality

Unbeknownst even to the Forever Girl, the being that grants her immortality is actually the last existing member of a godlike race, connected to humanity through their collective belief. In ancient times, as people gradually turned to new gods and means of worship, they began to forget this powerful race, causing them to fade from this plane of reality. The last of its race, its strength waning, the being set into motion the events which would cause the creation of a being that would act as a window into our world, allowing it to see through the eyes of a human in exchange for the gift of eternal life to ensure the connection never fails. Though it has yet to occur it is possible that this connection could be manipulated and used to summon these ancient beings back into our plane of existence.

Chimera (Amy Clarke) – Chimera is a genetically engineered super soldier created by mad genius the Geneticist (Michael Avari) for the Cryptid Society – a shadowy organisation with a cryptozoological theme – as their newest champion. Unfortunately for them long time foe the Forever Girl had gotten wind of a new weapon being delivered to a known high-ranking Society member and soon intervened. Once having discovered the true nature of the package Forever Girl decided to take the infant Chimera under her protection and raise her as her own.

As a genetically altered being, Amy was engineered from an embryo to resemble the chimera of Greek myth. Her hair is coarse and fur-like, failing to hide the pointed ears and small curled horns on either side of her head. Amy’s eyes are golden and catlike while her teeth and retractable claws are razor sharp. The scales covering her body are tough but flexible and her tail, a metre-and-a-half long, is prehensile and snakelike. Like her inspiration Chimera is capable of breathing a jet of flame up to two metres from her mouth and is resisting to flames and heat. She enjoys heightened senses and strength comparable to a lion’s and has reasonable endurance and resistance to injury. She is somewhat vulnerable to low temperatures and has been trained in self defence by her adopted mother.

The Cryptid Society (modern incarnation) – A shadowy cult with many incarnations dating back to ancient times, they seek to rule the world with the might and ferocity of the creatures of myth and legend. Although they generally operate behind the scenes they have been known to make the occasional outright grab for power, though have thus far been unsuccessful. The group’s leaders are all highly educated, while their warriors are highly trained, and with a large underground criminal network they are a dangerous enemy for those with no experience dealing with them.

From the time they were originally formed they have sought to uncover the origins of the Forever Girl’s immortality, earning a long time enemy that has come back to haunt them again and again over the centuries. She is considered the foremost expert when dealing with the Society.

In the past the Society’s enforcers have utilised various mythical creature-themed weapons and this is no different today, though these new weapons have taken a more dangerous form. Since the emergence of the superhuman the Cryptid Society has sought out those with powers that directly resemble those of beast of ancient law and trained them to act as their own personal weapons, both covertly and as the more traditional villains. They have also been known to dabble in magic and genetic engineering, either themselves or procured though outside sources as was the case of Chimera (Amy Clarke), a purchased genetic experiment rescued and raised by the Forever Girl.

The Geneticist (Michael Avari) – An elderly super genius, Michael Avari has dedicated his life to the creation and study of genetically altered creatures for no other reason than his own curiosity. Originally a top expert in his field he was expelled from the scientific community and wanted on charges for his illegal, painful and inevitably deadly genetic experiments on human beings. While in hiding from the law he perfected his craft and began selling his services to the highest bidder, regardless of their intentions, to fund his experiments and continue his learning. In his time the Geneticist has supplied armies for supervillains and empowered heroes, created diseases for terrorists and then cures for governments. He doesn’t consider himself good or bad, just a humble man doing his part for science and nothing more.
Tonight I was browsing through some galleries and was inspired with ideas for a few superhero characters. Writing them down right away I started thinking of ways they could all be connected and here you go.

Just wanted to share.
